Help on Xenon Upgrade and side clear side marker
Hello,
New to this forum. Just took ove my wife's CLK 350 after getting SUV for her.
It's time to fix up few things but... never really did Benz tuning before. Did Supra and Integra tuning before but.... this is totally different subject!
Anyways, it's 07 CLK 350 w/ P1 and appreance package.
I need some referrals to upgrade on following....
Lighting - It's halogen right now. Do I need to purchase new headlight housing for xenon upgrade? Is there xenon bulb in market that will fit to current housing I have? Also, reccomendations for Daytime running light bulbs to match xenon upgrade?
Exhaust - Any recommendations?

Hello and Welcome to the forum.
First let me say that the people here will flame you quick for not using the search. Everything you asked has been covered several times before.
For your halogen's you can buy HID's but they won't compare to the actual Xenon headlights. Speaking from personal experience it is worth going with the whole Xenon upgrade. That will set you back anywhere from $600-$1000 depending on where you get them.
What did you want to do as far as exhaust? More power or just looks?

Thanks for the welcome dynomite.
If you could refer me to someplace where I could find good products you would put on your own car it will be helpful. If you could at least tell me which brands will work, I'll go from there.... So if I do xenon upgrade, do I need new headlight housing?
It will be good to have both power and looks.

You need the whole housing to do the xenon upgrade. Check out this link they are expensive but it's just so you could see the housing.

209/W210 Estate /W211 modded by MBENZNL
Also MBENZNL.com can get you Anything for the CLK...It all starts with Just ONE mod
I changed the headlights,taillights,Bumpers,interior,Comand,Dist ronic,Parktronic
powerfolding mirrors, and added Paddle Shift with a AMG steering wheel
A few pics of the work in progress...

You should try and use oem parts as the headlights are very important ....with adding a xenon (KIT) with the NON Xenon housing the llights will look cool but will not have the correct light pattern as Mercedes use projector type HID versus the (KIT) that use a replacement bulb into your NON HID housing
Here is a HID (KIT)

I'm not sure on the light pattern with pnp hid kits on our cars, some reflectors are better than others in terms of beam pattern. Any guinea pigs ? Hid kits generally have horrible beam pattern though as others have said, and the glare that the stock lights give off to light street signs is greater with an hid kit.
You should hold on a while and wait for a good deal on ebay for oem xenon headlights, although auto level won't work because there is supposed to be a sensor in the rear axle for that which is factory fit. This isn't a problem if you aim your lights. One other thing is that you will likely need the dealer to program the computer to Xenon=on otherwise you will have flickering issues.
As far as city lights, try hoen bulbs, and there are quite a few threads regarding the led bulbs. Im not sure about exhaust though, I think its nice to have a nice smooth and quiet benz, but this sounds cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpGB2_kR2vo

Thanks Alex. I guess timing on e bay will be my best bet unless I try Benznl.com.
It seems like Benz parts are more expensive and same time much more harder to find then BMW parts.
I'll be happy to see my car stand out since u don't see many tuned Benz compared to BMW but it is much harder to build.
