Thanks for all the comments. For the sub, I'm running a JL marine woofer installed in the stock woofer locaiton - infinite baffle. The rear deck was cut out to accomdate the larger woofer. I couldn't give up my trunk space - and it sounds ok. I don't know why i keep spending money on high end rear fill though when I hardly use them.

I will be looking to cut the stock woofer location up and add a sub there instead. but currently running avic z110bt, JL audio C2 components in the front and C2 coaxials in the back. with a JL 12w6v2 sitting in the trunk.
bottom line, i think speakers were well worth it. and the sub too. i muted the sub the other day and realized that music just felt empty. lol i don think i can have a car without a sub again. -_-
forgot to add a load of dynamat in the trunk to keep it from going crazy outside.

Here's my link to my setup :
https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...o-upgrade.html
Since i installed the stuff i have since changed the crossover and am running just the front components 2 way and have cut out running them 3 way.
The rear speakers are still the same mids as my fronts and are also filtered through a crossover for just mids, but i do have it faded 90% forward and like it like this. Am thinking about fiting some smaller mids (4"?) into my rear shelf, as i find shelf mounted mids will give the rear fill a nicer ambience as long as the level is quite low and doesn't draw the sound stage back.
This is how i ran it in my E320cdi and it sounded better than the CLK now sounds...
