Aftermarket steering wheel providers?

I was going to get a DTM style steering wheel from DCT but they backed out because I have the beige interior and they couldn't promise a correct color match. I also tried Shere Motorsports but they only offer black. I've sent out dozens of emails to different suppliers on the net and ebay but so far, no luck.

Do you guys have some names or links to other aftermarket steering wheel manufacturers? Any and all names & links will be appreciated, this is the last item I need for my interior mods.

Thanks guys!

2006 Facelift CLK500 Cab-
Momo, Sparco, NRG(also make a nice quick release), Grant(more likely to be able to match the interior).

Thanks James, I appreciate your reply and yeah, you listed off some great brands - I use a MOMO wheel in my track car.

I guess I should have been more specific in my original post though, I'm looking for a Mercedes CLK 're-worked' wheel like what DCT (Wes has one) and Sphere offer. I want to retain the airbag, controls ect.

I bought my woodgrain wheel from these guys. They also offer the tan leather. Maybe you can send them a message and see what happens.

Maybe you could find the material somewhere and get it shipped to them and see if they could just cover one of theirs with it?

Just wanted to quickly update this thread. I sent out a whole bunch of emails to different companies & I got one back that was great. EuroTra$H gave me a link to apsisusa, I emailed them and they came back telling me they can make me a wheel and they buy the leather from the actual supplier that sells to MB so the color matching is perfect. Now that is fantastic news! With the new wheel, I think my interior plans are pretty much finished.

After I get a few details worked out with them I'm going to be placing an order. Pics to follow of course.

THANKS Euro!!!

Cheers Wes, I've got 3 emails back now from different companies saying that it can be made (including your link), makes me wonder why it couldn't be done 'eleswhere'...

Thanks to the 209 boys again for the leads, great community.

Apsisusa backed out as did a few others - it's down to Wes's 'Steeringwheel Land' now. Keeping my fingers crossed. Frustrating when you keep heraring "no problem" from these guys only to have them come back and say crap like "oh, you misunderstood, we don't do that..."

Not sure if you have seen this company before: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...#ht_2595wt_989 but they have authentic MB wheels in every color and style. While they are based in Sweden the actual product come from Poland and is delivered very quickly via EMS courier (USPS). You can find an upgraded wheel here and use it as a base for a recovered wheel if you want to add paddle shift feature. In the case of changing the look for the CLK the only wheel with a flat bottom from the factory is the Black Series and it ain't cheap. You can however alter your style while staying true to the brand. I bought from them a couple years ago and got a great Alcantara and smooth leather wheel with aluminum paddles. At that time they still did auctions and I got it for about $300 shipped. Same wheel is now $699 +$60 shipping. Its a fairly straightforward install too. I did a writeup on step by step installation a couple years back on here or benzworld. its worth a look. They have several different shades of "beige" so if they don't list the exact color send them an email. They are great to work with.

I have no relationship with this vendor other than as a satisfied customer. I don't know them or anybody who works for them.

+1. I am having a DTM style made as well, it's originally what I wanted to at this point, it seems that it's what I am going to be getting.

Youre a wealth of knowledge on W209s bro

Will the paddles on the wheel in the link be functional on a 2004 CLK500?

^^I would also like to know if the paddles can be made functional on a 2004 clk 500 is it something easy to do? If so the wheel would be worth it

Anything is possible, and it has been done before. With that said, I don't think it is cheap at all. I know Steve (MBenzNL) has done the retrofit.

Woo hoo! Made the deposit on a CLK DTM style steering wheel finished in beige (Stone) leather! Should have it in about 6 weeks, I'll put up lots of pics as this is great news for all who want one (or other styles) but don't have black interior.
