Bi-xenon retrofit, which parts?
It looks to me like the 03-05 lights are different than the later 'active' series. Is there any reason to prefer one version over the other??

Pretty much looks. Here are the pre-facelift (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-08...item3a6141d7ab) and the facelift (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MERCE...item27b8018ee0)

if they are good enough for a BS
they should work for me.
is it the case that the auto-leveling features don't work on the retro-fit

I think the reason they used the older lights was to conserve some weight, the active headlights probably add a tiny bit with the wiring, motors, modifications and what not. The black series also doesnt have power seats
