wind noise from windows

i searched the forum on wind noise, but a lot of the threads were posted right around the new w209s were coming out.

has anyone had any problems driving and hearing wind noise as if the windows are cracked open? it only does this on the passenger side.

I don't get wind noise, but I do get an annoying noise from the seals when going over bumps. Have you tried talking to the dealer to see if it's something that's covered?

08clk350 03-18-2011 02:49 PM

have not taken it to the dealer yet. i will do it soon. but wanted to see if others are experiencing the same issue. its at the corner of the passenger window by the side mirror.

Did you physically inspect the seals on that side to see if they are making contact. I have heard of this problems before, but can't recall how it was solved.

I don't have any issues with this surprisingly

i will do more inspecting tonight when i get home....i owe this forum my pictures too....they will be posted as soon as i get some time...there was an issue with my vinyl wrapping of the hood and roof as well....

dynomite05 03-18-2011 03:11 PM

Looking forward to the pics.

08clk350 03-18-2011 03:24 PM

i know....you been asking me. i just didnt want to post them up with the bad vinyle...the car looks more aggressive than before tho....

dynomite05 03-18-2011 03:28 PM

Glad to hear that. You have been waiting a while for it, was the work what you expected?

08clk350 03-18-2011 03:32 PM

yea, i was going to post up the whole experience and describe the mods with pics in a post in the next few weeks once i finalize the car.

Is your car black by any chance?

Also when i go through car washes the water tends to go in between the window seals

08clk350 03-18-2011 06:43 PM

yes the car is black. i havent had a car wash issue <knock on wood>. but i just noticed the wind noise when i got on the freeway yesterday....

I just realized the same problem a couple of days ago and noticed it again while I was washing my car.

Is it inherent to the W209 or should I get hold of my dealer?

clk500b 03-18-2011 10:32 PM

the seal between the front and rear window needs to be replaced

08clk350 03-19-2011 01:47 PM

the noise is not coming from the seal. it is coming from the front corner where near the side mirrors.

Fai+H777 03-19-2011 11:58 PM

Clk500b, are you sure about the seals? Anyone know the cost from the stealership to have them replaced?

I had about 3 water drops on my rear passenger seat the other day after getting my car washed, never happened before. I think it was because the guy was getting a little too close and personal with the high volume pressure washer.

I had a wind sound at high speed from the passager side window last summer...

Dealer tried to adjust the front pass. window and NO luck ! :X
they even put some spray of some kind to help the seal around
the windows.

nothing worked :(

Anyone know how much is it to replace all the window seal ?

Moedy 03-21-2011 11:40 AM

Go to an indy shop to get the seal replaced. You can buy it online and just get charged for labor but I dont think you will be saving much. For the original poster, your car is still under warranty so you might as well let them deal with it. Sometimes its the seal and sometimes they have to adjust the window or maybe both. I had a guy from the dealer take a ride with me on the interstate numerous times to let him hear the noise, it was a pain in the ass

08clk350 03-21-2011 01:47 PM

i recently had the car modded with painting the chrome and roof wrapped with vinyl. do you think they will say some stupid ***** like you removed some items off the car and caused this to happen and put the blame on me? even though it might be the seal that is to blame for it and not the chrome trim or the process of removal and install of the weather strip and other little items around the car?

Moedy 03-21-2011 04:41 PM

possibly, that might be the reason. If they had to remove any seals around the door to put on the vinyl roof then yes they can blame it on that

I just blast that new Rebecca Black "Friday" as loud as it can go and no wind problems

Yep, just got my braces off haha.
I saw that video and laughed for almost 10 straight minutes at just how bad it is. Then, she put out an "acoustic" version of it in response to all of the criticism that is EVEN WORSE haha.
