Tie Rod

I had some vibrations at 120kmh. I thought the wheels needed to be balanced so I went to a tire store. The guy told me that the left tie rod was loose and should be replaced. Since alignment is required after a tie rod change, I went ahead to get both replaced. Good thing is the vibrations went away.

So, the right tie rod was still good but I replaced it anyway. My question is should I keep it in case I need it later?

I would toss it. It already has substantial mileage on it.

Forgot to mention, the left tie rod was replaced 3 years ago, so it's mileage would be 36k miles.

I'm confused. I thought the right tie rod end was the still good one.

Sorry, the right side was loose and that's the whole reason for replacement.

I checked my repair records. The right one was replaced back in June-2006 and the left one was replaced in June-2010. I do about 15k miles per year.
