Check engine for P0410 popped up on my car a few weeks ago.
I found this very helpful thread directing me to look at the pump in the front of the engine. P/N A 000 140 42 85

Its held in by 3 torx bolts and a power connector for the centrifugal fan.

There was definitely something wrong with the old one. The outer plastic casing had melted in 2 spots.


A new blower is $400-500 so I contacted this guy on ebay about rebuilding mine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261525999517?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITGreat guy, very prompt and helpful.
I took it apart and sent him some pics. It was totally not rebuild able.


Just totally destroyed inside, wouldn't spin freely, chunks of plastic **** would fall out. Guy from ebay hooked me up with a refurb BOSCH 0 580 000 018 (or A 000 140 42 85) at a great price.
Installed it about a week ago, no codes popped up yet.
I'm also replacing this relay A 002 542 65 19 which runs the blower. Sometimes it goes crazy and can cycle it to death:
