side marker light out; how does bulb socket assemble??
my side marker light is out and the contacts in the bulb socket have corroded away. I bought A0005400966 but it comes disassembled. How does it go together?

Here is the way I see it;
- the green parts are wire insulators and unit seal
- the shiny parts make electrical contact for power to the bulb
- the white part is the housing
Here is how I think you put it together:
- cut the wires at the old housing
- strip a small bit (1/16") of insulation from each wire
- put a green part (insulator) over each wire (big end first)
- put a contactor (shiny part) on each wire (they should clip into the bottom as pictured)
- push contactor into housing (top as pictured) - they should lock into housing
- can't tell if they are keyed so make sure the ends align to receive the bulb
- slide the green part into the housing
Hope for the best -----

You may be able to pull the wires out of the old housing without cutting them and disconnect them from the old contactors/clip.

Hey sorry I haven't responded; for some reason I didn't get email alerts about the responses. I'm gonna try to reverse-engineer the bad one to be sure, thanks.
