convertible pump question
Beware: the part number stickers on the pumps show a different number (for example, A 209 800 03 30), and the part number on that sticker can be the same for different pumps!

The most common pump failure is the electric motor shorting out. After that, the most common failure is plain pressure loss. Junkyards typically ask far too much money for used pumps, because they know how much these pumps are new and because there is quite a demand for them.
If you buy a used pump, then you will get an item with limited service life left in it. Unless you can get a matching, used pump very inexpensively, by far your best option is having your pump rebuilt by Top Hydraulics. You get a product back that is better than a brand new one, because we upgrade a lot of internal components and we squeeze some extra power out of the pump. For example, we put some 30% more copper into our rewound electric motors (to avoid future overheating), upgrade internal seals, and install only pistons and rotors with tight tolerances. We average 1-2 days turn around plus 2-3 days Priority Mail return shipping within the US.
