won't start
Went out this morning to start my car and it wouldn't start. It turns over fine and there seems to be power going to everything. I left it outside over night. It's not that cold here right now...probably +3 degrees Celsius. Yesterday it almost wouldn't start in the morning but I managed to get it to go and once it has been started it's perfectly fine for the day. any ideas?

I would guess the crankshaft position sensor (CPS). These often fail in the summer when it's hot, but cold can do it, too. If it's not that, then it's fuel delivery. Note that the ECU will not energize the fuel pump unless it gets a signal from the CPS.

you guys were right. It was the crankshaft position sensor. I was just surprised because everywhere I read about it online associated its failure with the engine being warmed up rather than it being cold. it cost me $375 all in to get it fixed. is that a reasonable price?

It's only taking out one screw and putting in another one. But it's a b*tch to get at it.

I can't get to my records right now but I think I paid more to get mine changed last year. Seems it was approaching $500. So relative to what I paid a dealer, your cost was good.

I'm so glad this forum exists.
