I cannot seem to find what is taking up all the space in the bottom of the center console. It's a plastic looking housing with a red sticker on it. I don't recall what was on the sticker at the moment but it take us the whole bottom part of the center console on my 2004 CLK 500. Integrated phone? Thanks for any help!!

Yes, that is the phone. I have the same thing in my 04 CLK500. In the model without the phone, I've seen a 2nd cupholder in the center console.

With a CLK430, you should try the W209 forum, but I think I can still help - that is a fan for the rear seat A/C vents. It was a (rare) option, and it does take up a significant amount of center console space.

Does it look like the picture in this thread? Photo is halfway down the first page.

If so, then it is a blower motor for the rear vents.
