I need some help please on this AUX situation..
Hey guys, I have a 2004 clk320 and need help on trying to install a AUX but I have no idea on how to do it and where to get the parts from.. And on top of that I don't have any idea if it's compatible with my radio. Thanks

So exactly what does an AUX do? I have read about it in the manual, but it is not clear. Is it like an AUX input? If so, how do you plug into it and what will it handle?

You have to buy the patch cable from the Dealership. It plugs into the wiring harness located beneath the passengerside door sill. It them routes up behind the trim panel, and snaps into an opening (you will have to cut it out) located on the rightside of the glove box. To activate it, hold down the CDC button for about 3 seconds, and the screen will display "AUX Active".
I know, because I did this in mine about a week ago.

I've been doing some research on this and think I am going to route an aux cable to the factory phone area in the center console. Then use the phone wiring to power a USB charger for my cell phone. May as well get some use out of the space.

My 07 didn't have the aux in the box, so I wired my own cable from the white connector and took it up through next to my Bluetooth phone module. Wasn't too difficult to do. Looks very tidy, and a MUCH better place to have it.
You can see how I did it on my thread here:
