Radiator cooling fan only turns on with air conditioning on
Hey im new to this site i have a 2003 clk 500 and my radiatior fan wont turn on when my car is up to temperature but it will turn on when the ac is turned on any help is greatly appreciated

That sounds normal. The fan only runs when needed and its speed can be varied. At normal operating temp (90C) the fan should not run. Once you get to 100C, it should start.

Thanks i just got this car used and i was worried it was a problem because sometimes the front end of the car feels really hot but after reading thru a few posts i can pretty much bet that it has the wrong coolent in it so ill probably flush it out and put the proper stuff in it and see how that goes

Same car, the hood gets super hot. Between the shocks and the headlights on each side of the hood specifically. A mechanic told me once that was because that where the air is blown toward by the fan, there's little place it can go so, it seems to go towards the side of the engine. The hood then gets hot on each side but not much in the middle.
