2005 CLK Cab xenon bulb replacement

Hey guys! I searched for instruction, but haven't found specifics yet. There's a youtube video on an earlier W208, that had torx screws holding the bulb in, but I don't believe mine is the same way. I've also read that there is some sort of metal clip, but no pics. It's very tight and hard to see. Anyone have detailed info on how to remove the existing low beam bulb on a xenon system? Thanks!

The bulb is held in with a plastic collar. Rotate it counter-clockwise to release it.

That one looks different than what I am used to seeing. I am guessing the spring clip releases somehow.

Is this an aftermarket headlight or an aftermarket Xenon kit?

This looks like the regular clip in any halogen headlight, like our high beams.

See the two cutouts in the metal bracket in the bottom right corner? The spring clip (or clips, it looks like the two may be independent) is hooked in there and to undo it you need to push "in" (towards the front of the car), then move sideways, towards the cutout, then pull out. Reinstall in reverse order.

Here's another clip, look at the little hooks on the right side that hold the clip. The idea is the same:

EASY Slide each clip at bottom toward center and release.
Harder to get reinstalled- there are previous summaries.
When reinstalling must keep the notch at the top of the bulb in place when relatching the springs.

Thanks for the feedback. Finally got the bulbs out and replaced by feeling the clips and releasing them. A good pic with my phone really helped. Lights worked fine......until this weekend. Got in the car on Saturday and got an error message "right marker light". Looked at the light and it was out. Got back in the car and the error messages were rolling and "right low beam" then "left low beam" came up. I checked the low beams and they were, in fact, out I figured they were the cheap amazon lights, so I got a set of Sylvanias from Advance Auto. Brought them home, installed them and......nothing! The replaced side marker light works fine, as do the driving lights, fog lights and high beams. Aside from the knowledge base here, my only other option is the dealer, which I'm not to fired up for. I checked both fuses and they are good. I went thru the fuse diagram, but didn't see a relay for the low beams??? Any ideas would be appreciated!

There's a fuse box next to your lights switch. Open the driver side door and you should see it

From my post above " I checked both fuses and they are good. I went thru the fuse diagram, but didn't see a relay for the low beams???"

According to the fuse 'legend' the fuses for the low beams are actually in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. Again, they were both good.

Are you saying that there are other fuses for the low beams in the fuse box next to the light switch?

There are no fuses for the front or rear lights. They are electronically controlled by the SAMs. Check the electrical connectors on the bulbs to make sure you have them secured.

Thanks Rudeney. The legend in the fusebox lists 63 & 64 as 'Low Beam' and both fuses were present? Anyway, the lights worked for a few weeks, and then stopped. New (Sylvania) lights not working either. Press and ~quarter turn on the connectors?

Fuse 63 is for the light switch module, i.e. the switch on the dash that sends a signal to the SAM which in turn powers the headlights. 64 is for the radio. Those connectors on the bulbs are bad to corrode and even short out. Try some contact cleaner on them and re-install.
