Top will not go down
 

I have a 2004 Mercedes Benz clk 500 and the top won't go down. When I activate top operation, the windows go down and the Top In Operation message is displayed. But once the windows are down, everything stops and the message goes away. the light blinks red but no error message is displayed. Luggage compartment is down and trunk is closed. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Rodney will probably respond - my guess is that the limit switch that is next in sequence is not working. But in the meantime, it won't hurt for you to pull the rectangular panel off the left side of your trunk and see if your fluid reservoir is at the full line.

I replied in the other thread (you might want to ask the moderators to delete that one). My questions is: do you hear the hydraulic pump motor operating?

I checked the hydraulic fluid and it is full. I do not hear the pump operating however.

First, I'd check the fuse (#1, in the trunk), then the relay. If those are good, it might be a bad pump.
