Rear Shock Replacement 2006 CLK350

I purchased some new OEM shocks for the rear suspension on the CLK350. I lifted the vehicle and had trouble getting the shocks clear to be removed from the swingarm.

Mercedes have many links to the hub which does not allow the swingarm to drop when lifting the vehicle.

Can I get away with just disconnecting the lower swing arm bolt to hub to clear the shock without disrupting the car's allignment?

You should not have to disconnect anything. Just compress the shock - use a pry bar on the lower end to lever it out if needed.
