Sport PKG = Sport Suspension??
So, I believe I have the Sport Package, but does that mean it comes with the sport suspension?
My VIN is WDBTJ56H68F237930 .
I tried the VIN Tool on mbworld, but it does not indicated which suspension I have or even the fact that I have the Sport PKG.
Thanks!

Here's your datacard:

There are two "sport packages" - one is the sport appearance package that is just styled bumpers and wheels. The other is the sport suspension package which is different brakes and shocks. Your car has both - code 468 Sport Suspension and code 951 Sport Package (appearance).

I think I would be right in saying that brakes are not upgraded with the sports suspension pack. My previous CLK had the same brakes fitted as my current; sports suspensioned CLK.
In Europe at least, the only cars fitted with upgraded brakes were those fitted with the sports appearance package.

Looking back at the brochure, it seems that the Sport Suspension package comes with the Sport Appearance Package on the MY2008 CLK350. The Sport Appearance Package is what includes changes to the brakes. The only difference mentioned is that it uses cross-drilled front rotors, but I'm pretty sure there are different pads and calipers used, too. I seem to recall that the V6 W209 had one of three different brake systems used depending on year and whether it was "sport" or not.
Oh, and with the "Appearance" vs. "Sport" packages being combined, it depends on the model year. For some MYs, the appearance package was not available, for others, it was an option, but separate from the suspension package, and then for some years they were combined. For the V8's, they always cam standard with the appearance package, but it was slightly different from the V6's - more closely resembling the AMG model's appearance upgrades. Also, the sport suspension was optional on the V8' until My2008 when it became standard. Of course this only applies to US models - other markets had different options and combinations.

Yeah, non-USA models had all sort of different combinations. I've never seen the "C/S/M" mode on a non-AMG CLK. My SL550 has it, and it has the exact same transmission as my CLK550, but the CLK only has C/S.

I have a non-sport suspension MY2007 CLK550. What are the differences between the base suspension and the sports suspension? Just struts/springs or did it include roll bars or more?
My car "floats" a bit more than I'd like. Just curious how involved with would be to swap out the base suspension for the sports suspension and, I guess more importantly, if it makes much of a difference in the ride and handling.

These are the codes from my VIN. I don't see 468 and according to Rudney in post #4 above, it wasn't until MY2008 that the 550's all had the sports suspension in the U.S.

It did not become standard on the CLK550 until M2008.
The differences are int he shocks (stiffer), springs (shorter to lower the car) and thicker anti-sway bars, which are all easy enough to retrofit. But before that, make sure the rest of the suspension is in good order. The frame bushings for the front control arms wear and generally need replacement within 60K miles. A fairly inexpensive upgrade is to get a beefier aftermarket anti-sway bar.

There are two "sport packages" - one is the sport appearance package that is just styled bumpers and wheels. The other is the sport suspension package which is different brakes and shocks. Your car has both - code 468 Sport Suspension and code 951 Sport Package (appearance).

There are different codes used for different markets and even models. Where are you seeing 950? I think all the 95x codes are just "appearance" packages and don't change any mechanical components.

So from what I'm seeing there are 3 packages that affect the "Sportiness of the 209 CLK 350. There's 486 which is stiffer dampers, 95X which made it look cooler, and theres also a P90 on some data cards out there. I'm sorta confused about what that one could be. I've looked up some data cards that have all three. Unless maybe having P90 defaults to also having 95X? Boy they were not worried about confusing people that's for sure!

my car has 486 and P90 but I don’t have any 95x codes.

The MY2009 "final edition" CLK350 used slightly different codes. Yours has the sport suspension (486) and I believe P90 is equivalent to a 95x sport appearance package, but was a special version for that final edition.

I'm trying to figure out the equipment on my vehicle. I see it has 954 package but am unclear if this includes the sport suspension. VIN: WDBTJ72H67F207584
