Rock Auto anyone?

Here in Canada it seems like we get screwed on auto parts. Case in point. My buddy got brake parts that were made in Canada cheaper from USA than from Canada.
Rock Auto has real cheap prices, but the shipping is outrageous. For two struts the shipping is $135.00.
Does anyone know of a good place to get parts?

Problem here in Canada is the dealership is the only place to buy OE parts. This is why they pretty much can charge whatever they want.

Free shipping in the US online stores do not apply to Canada. Even if one store would ship to Canada, Canadian custom may tag on duty charges. Also, you have to be 100% sure so to order the correct parts because there is no simple way for returns. This applies even if the parts is defective.

Sorry. While I feel your pain, I am not sure if there is a viable solution.

Have you checked out fcpeuro? OE parts that are guaranteed for life. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I think insame1 is onto something here.

I don't care if my parts have the MB star on them, if they are made in the same factory on the same machine, they should work fine.

Ive bought about 3k worth of parts from them in the last couple months and they have all worked well. The do ship internationally but I have no clue the cost.

I did buy parts from fcpeuro but not directly. I asked my friend who lives in New Hampshire to buy for me. So, no tax nor shipping charges, He used to visit Montreal often so it worked out. You can try fcpeuro and see if any custom charge on top of custom. One thing I learnt is if they ship by UPS, there will definitely be duty charge.

I myself insisted MB OE parts for my car. I am not a DIY person so I did not want to pay for the labor twice.

While fcp does sell Mercedes branded parts you do know that Mercedes dont make any of them. You can buy OEM parts that match the quality because it is the same part without the stamp. Not say all OEM is created equal but there are good alternatives that dont carry the branded parts prices.

It's funny that in the old days manufacturers made all the parts, now stuff like seatbelts, airbags, and a whole host of things are not made by the mfgr at all.
