2007 CLK350 Convertible
Unhappy Harmon Kardon 7 system makes electrical noises

Been meaning to ask this question for the 5 years we have owned the CLK350 Convertible. When we purchased the car from the dealer the car had a Pioneer Avic Z140BH HU and everything else factory. Slowly we begin to hear strange noises from the speakers and mainly from the HK sub as well. We also get the turn off thump when the key shuts off the car but now when the unit is turned off. Noises really does sound like electrical noises, but not like typical static or even a blown speaker type noise. BTW, noise is heard with the unit off meaing no source selected. Also if there is no source and the noise is present then I can hit the seat warmer button and the noise will stop and starts back when heater switched off. This is just an example as somemtimes HVAC switched on and off has the same effect on noise. Wanted to know if anyone else experiences strange noises on aftermarket HU and also where the amp is in the Convertible as well as how to take the subwoofer out as well?
