just curious if there were any opinions on the new transmission pan... it is about time to swap fluids again... and i came across this... and thought this might be a compromise vs going with the wiestec pan i was thinking about getting?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I've never heard of using a deeper pan. In fact, after the first few years of the 722.9, they changed to the pan to add a slope to it so fluid would be better directed to the filter. Personally, I'd stick with stock. I think that Wiestec is a waste of money. It won't fix any of the known issues with the early 722.9's and unless you tow (which I know you don't with the CLK) or track, it's not going to offer much.

This deeper oil pan may also reduce ground clearance further, on the low-slung CLK, which is a major consideration where road surfaces are less than ideal.
