Damn Gritters....

Now that winter is over (in the UK) I need to refurbish my door mirror covers. Can anyone advise me how to remove these safely without breaking anything... especially the glass..

not sure if this will help... but i had loose glass and from my research, it was easier to find a replacement unit... i planned to take it apart... but it was so easy to replace... it it just sitting in my garage. not sure if that helps you... but could be worth the time just to find a used one. i think it is just 3 bolts and a connector.
