Convertible hood problem with luggage clearance flap

2005 CLK 350 sport auto soft top convertible
Convertible hood problem with luggage clearance flap
The luggage clearance flap won’t click and stay down but springs back up so the switch won’t operate to open the hood. Any ideas please.

There are 2 partition struts that will need to be replaced.
I did mine last year. Quite simple once you see how.
This thread shows how, and includes pics of when I did it as well as advice from others who have been down this path.
20 minute job once you have the struts.
