My biggest stupidity

Last I week I have done a transmission oil change on my clk, when I was about to remove the stands, my hydraulic trolley slided out.
The result is a small scratch on the upper oil pan with, of course ,oil leaking.... It seems to be very painful to remove the sump so I will try to put some loctite 3455.

Ok is not the best I am keeping myfingers crossed

Yes, to replace the upper oil pan, you have to lift the engine so you can get it over the suspension. I hope your sealant works, but it often does not.

I found some thread and it seems that I need to remove the subframe.

If I "only" have to lift the engine is not too complicated and I will change the engine support.But I am not sure that the pan could be remove with the transmission fited

The sealant is epoxy with alu and I found some great result with it.

Yeah I get chills just when I hear "upper oil pan". I wouldn't discount the sealant just yet. Hopefully you get lucky.

If you do a lot of DIYing, even a bit, it is a good idea to spend just over $1000 on a QuickJack, It is well worth it, both because of the convenience and the safety. I once had my CLK fall off a scissor jack when replacing a wheel, a very scary experience. Fortunately I never use a scissor jack if I am putting any part of my body under the car. And now that I have the QuickJack the floor jack and jack stands haven't been used,

You can do it wither way - lift the engine or drop the subframe. Since you have to support and slightly life the engine to remove the subframe anyhow, and the subframe removal requires removing with some heavy duty bolts and the front suspension components, I'd go with lifting the engine. You will need to remove the braided fuel line, the MAF sensor, and detach the AC compressor (leaving refrigerant lines in place), alternator and engine mounts from the engine. But that's much easier than dropping the subframe. If it does come to that, I would go ahead and replace the engine mounts.while they are accessible.

If you know how to weld . You can try welding it and see if that works .
