brake pad replacement

Need to replace brake pads front and back. Any suggestions on what type/brand semi-metallic or ceramic? Non-sport. Also, would I require a torx wrench for the job?
Thanks for any advice.........

I just replaced the front pads (and rotors) on my CLK550 with Brembo parts from autozone.
The front pads only required 2 pins to get tapped through the caliper. I used a very skinny screw driver.
The pads slide out of the caliper without removing it. No torx required. Very easy, maybe 15 minutes per side.

Mine have the 4-pot front caliper, not sure about your 350.

In my experience i have found that genuine MBZ pads perform the best. I've tried Akebono (which were crap) and Porterfield Kevlar pads, which were only about 90% as good as OE pads. Yes, the MBZ pads create black dust, but I;d rather spend time cleaning wheels than cleaning up after a crash. As for rotors, genuine MB are good, but I also like Zimmerman.

I agree with Rodney. I love the feel of the MB OEM pads/rotors.

Are you using semi-metallic pads? I assume that is what the OEM uses?
Thanks,
Don

I can't actually find an answer to that, Brembo doesn't say
