Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to visit the User Control Panel and update your profile to include your car model and year, and your location (at least country). This information will then appear below your name and avatar on the left side panel next to each post you make. This will greatly help others to give you better information. If you are using the mobile version of the site, you will need to switch to the "full" version to get to the User Control Panel.

Is the red LED on the truck release button on the driver's door illuminated? If so, the trunk latch is not registering it as closed. In that case, I'd check the wiring for the latch. The sensor for the trunk closure is in the latch itself so you'd have to replace that whole part if it's defective.

Thank you for your answer. The red light on the door goes out and lights up normally. I also tried a new door lock but it didn't help. Does anyone know the location of the sensor that tells the roof the position of the boot lid??

What is the EXACT message? I suspect you are not int he USA because we call it a "trunk" and not a "boot", so the message may be slightly different, but here's what's in the owner's manual:

Exat message are” Close boot lid” and yes i have owners manual and there are same. In Eurooean trunk=boot.

OK, I did a bit more research on this. I "assumed" that the soft top control unit used the locked/open sensor located int h latch. That's what the LED indicator on the driver's door switch panel uses. Looking at the wiring diagram for the soft top controller:

http://benzbits.com/w209/soft_top/WiringDiagram.pdf

I see it uses a "trunk lid opening angle detection sensor", item B24/16. This is located on the left side of the trunk hinge:

Those photos came from SDS, so they are just for demonstration. AS I stated, the soft top control module uses a direct-wired signal from that sensor. I no longer have a W209 cabriolet, so I cant; pu tmy hands on the part, but that's what WIS shows.

cabrio have diffrent hinges modell. I opened all upholstery yesterday for that and there is no such part even though wis so says.

Where this parts are a2098205026?
Trunk ??

Rudeney 06-16-2019 09:55 PM

As I said, I just posted what was in WIS. Looking at the wiring diagram I posted, B24/16 is the trunk angle sensor and it has three wires connected to it: Brown/Violet, Gray/Blue, and Red/Yellow. I'd look for a three-wire harness with those colors connecting to something articulated by the trunk hinge.

I believe the sensor is used on the "self actuated" boot, not on the convertible.
Nobody solved that "boot lid open error"?
