radio ipod help

I recently purchased CLK 350 2009 with ipod integration cable in glow box. I simply love car. I received bluetooth adapter 30 pin to connect with bluetooth for music. as soon as i paired and connected with car radio, nothing happens with AUX. on dash board screen it says ipad error in cluster. does anyone have any suggestion on what to do to fix this issue? thank you

My solution was to use an old iPhone and leave it there... I don’t think the iPod interface is designed to sync with the car’s phone. Hopefully this helps.

My car didn’t come with the kit from the factory, so I had to install it myself... I posted the instructions here:

The installation was trouble-free and I have enjoyed it tremendously since I installed. You may want to “unplug” and plug the controller to see if that works... the controller is a box that s/b behind the carper/under the dash, passenger side. Good luck!

Thanks, let me try. My car came with pre installed iPod connector. Where does this connector plugs in to? I read somewhere that it plugs behind radio or under passenger foot rest? Thanks

If it was just a generic Apple 30-pin to bluetooth adaptor, it won't work. You need one specific to this car that uses the digital connection from the 30 pin connection. They are about $70-$80. I just sold the one I had on my car when I sold it.
