Differential seal ?

My axle seals are leaking and I decided to change both sides . I got new seals and dust caps as recommended by Mercedes . I will need to remove the diff cover to get access to the C clamp . Does the Differential ave a gasket or do I need RTV . Thanks in advance .

I see, the only things which holding axles inside the diff are small snap rings, you don't need to remove them, simply pry axles out.

When I looked it up on WIS it showed that I needed to open the rear diff cover and remove a C clamp . Can anyone confirm this ? I have a 2004 CLK500 convertible with 722.6 . I appreciate all the help

Not really, the only thing I can think of is if you are going to remove axles from knuckles, then to undo axle nuts you are going to need big socket and torque wrench which can handle about 200 ft/lb torque to torque them.

Yep, but you don't really have to remove axles from knuckles, in my thread I showed how to remove an axle with knuckle, the only problem is to disconnect parking brake cables.

Sure, it's https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...e-install.html. To be clear this thread is about installing LSD, but I went throughout the same steps you going to.
