Will stock CD Changer play Mp3's?

I have a CLK500 (in the shop for two weeks)

I want to know if it'll play Mp3 files I ripped from WINMX downloads...

Anyone? Bueller??

I've never tried exactly what you're asking about, but I can say that the player has been a bit tempermental with some burned CDs that I've been given. I also had a problem with a purchased CD (albeit a bit of a low budget looking production) for the first time the other day.

Sorry, but it won't work......

I've burned an mp3 disc and it won't play in either the changer or the front slot cd player (I get an error message). I also burned a DVD mp3 disc (i have dvd nav) and the system didn't recognise it either. Sucks! Still love my car though (beats my camry any day)

except your sound quality will not be anywhere near music ripped at a high bitrate. i just got an '05 clk500 and am very impressed with the harmon/kardon system... in fact, i'm so impressed that i pretty much am foregoing installing something that would let me play music from my ipod (ie a direct connection to the auxilary input using something like the Soundgate AUXMB1).

You're probably MOSTLY (no pun intended) foregoing it because it isn't compatible with your car, as your car has MOST bus, not the D2B bus with which the product claims to be compatible.

OK, then good thing you are foregoing that option for other reasons, as it doesn't work with your new cool car anyhow.
