I have a clk500 (m113 5.0) I'm looking to swap in a M156. Has anyone done this before? Forgive me if there's a thread on this already as I couldn't find one. I'd imagine it's a straight swap besides electrical since clk63 is a thing but yea I need some guidance before I go out of my way to get a motor. Lmk!

Electrical is a small part. More differences than you think between the M113 and M157. Less between the M272/273 and M156. You can be looking at fuel lines, fuel tank. Different pump setup and other lines. Brakes are a big difference, CLK63 has the 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Transmission and related parts, M156 had a 7G speedshift trans not standard 7G.
Radiator, fan etc is all different. CLK63 has a engine oil cool at the bottom of the radiator, cooled by the lower grill intake.
Biggest difference is the CLK63 has a completely different rear subframe, differential is AMG, shafts are different.
There’s plenty of other things as well but these are the main ones.
