'04 CLK 500 AC issues
I'm new to Mercedes ownership, and in the process of routine maintenance (oil change, new cabin filter, new air filters, coolant flush) on my recently acquired a 2004 CLK500 I have noticed some issues (I'm sure more will be found).
Climate Control:
- AC is on constantly, so it blows ice cold whether you want it to or not. The AC RST button does not work/does not illuminate when pressed, which was detrimental to flushing the radiator coolant (I was able disable the AC once via the console, so got one good flush, but the subsequent two, I was unable to. Also tried pressing the recirc and front defroster for 10 seconds to reset - got blinking lights, but to no avail. Only blows cold AC
- The fan speed is at one bar below maximum, and cannot reduce fan speed - can only increase to max. All other buttons for driver and passenger work.
- I noticed a bunch of severed wires on the passenger side in the engine bay, and have no idea what they are (see picture below). They were exposed when I got the car, but I encased the copper ends in electric tape for the time being. What are these?
what are these wires? Ignore the battery charger wires....
