Best wheels for White W208 CLK55?

Time for my $.02? I think the Black cars look best with the chrome wheels. For the Silver or White cars you have to go with polished or brushed. I never much liked the colored center wheels so, skip the white or black center ones.

As for the style it's "to each his own". I personally like the five spoke AMG wheels on my car but would rather go with one size larger ie: 18". I even like the five spoke amg wheels but, I may go with the HRE to get that "deep dish" look.

Anyway here is a pic that I scammed off of ebay (see attached) with a white w208. The wheels are IMO too large @ 19" but, you can see how the polished wheels look on the white as opposed to chrome.

Post up a "before" pick of what you got now. I may only speak for myself (and I know all the "bandwidth wasting" goons will likely start in) but, I love to see picks of everyones cars.

I agree, painted centers are out, and these cars look best with 18" max wheel sizes.

Is there a budget? BBS and HRE make some very nice wheels. Also, I'm fond of the Carlsson ultralight 1/16s, but they're pricey.

Well, I am looking at a White '01 CLK55, or if I want to go into debt an '03 E55. If I get the CLK I want to stay in the budget mode...The E55....well at that point could just about get anything wheel wise.....anyway, what do you think about these reps for the clk? these are 19"s maybe 18"s?

all of the pics posted above are hot.....and I would second the BBS suggestion...there's a Movit promo shot w/ a silver 208 lowered on 18 or 19" LM's and it is :y :y ....if anyone has a link

Just my .02 but 19's are the way to go on a W208. I made the mistake in buying 18's and mounted them on my car and they look small. But to each his own. Lowered with 19's look the best. :zoom:

Did you decide which car to go with? I've never been in a E55 but, I've gotta say that I'm really happy with my CLK. :naughty:

Still lookin' at both. I'd have to say though, the body of the (W208) CLK looks (IMO) much better. The power of the E55 is nice though.

Working a deal on a 1 owner, low miles, white 2001 CLK55 in Ca. If I can get it for a good price I think I'll "pull the trigger". Even though the power was addictive, I just was not feelin' the W211 body style (too much wheel base) and twice the cost of the CLK55. (Will hold out for an '03 Turbo late '06 as a garage queen) What do you think about a set of 19's like the one's on the silver clk earlier in the thread?
