HOLY CR*P!!! Moved from BMW to MB and WOW
Hey Guys!,
I just bought a pre-owned 2003 CLK-55 AMG (took delivery tonight!) and I have been totally blown away!
I've driven BMW's for the past 10 years and never owned an automatic transmission before, but I can't believe the performance of my CLK-55! I hope to get a lot of good info from this board.
My first question is what is the first performance mod that I should do? So far the car is totally stock.

2) suspension...either H&R springs, or PSS9 or KW coilovers
3) ECU reflash
4) sprint booster
5) rims/tires
6) resonator / rear cats delete
7) eisenmann exhaust
8) cams
9) headers
10) Renntech or Kleemann supercharger

Just to point out......out 2003 CLK55's do not have resonators. I checked. I'm not sure if other years do or not but 2003 does not.
I'm keping mine stock for now...I wouldn't mind filters but I"m afraid to mess with the engine. What if they let too much crap in? A new ECU would be good. And what exactly is a sprint booster?

Welcome to the AMG club! They are truly remarkable cars....and the guys are correct about doing some ECU work...it will make a world of difference. We always recommend dropping in K&N filters to enhance our tuning.

Thanks for the tips guys! I'll probably start with filters, I've always used K&N filters on my other cars. As far as the ECU goes what is a good company to go with? I used the Shark injector for my 328 and it was a noticeable difference over stock but I'm unfamiliar with a reputable, quality company for AMG.

The best aftermarket tuners in my opinion are RENNtech, BRABUS & Kleemann. Evosport, other than being the owners of this site are also a very good company, but there in Cali so i have not dealt with them very much, i'm sure some other members can chime in on them. Another good place is Euroteck motorsports, it's a sponser here & it's owned by Neal, a regular MBWorld poster. Good luck
