2002 CLK 55 AMG
Shift Control and Shifter

A cup of coffee down the center console fried (until it dried) the transmission electronics under the shifter. The dealer replaced the entire assembly at no charge; but the car seems to perform less well now -- shift points are off and there's less torque. Ideas? I was surprised the dealer had the assembly in stock. Does the 55 use the same assembly as CLK 430 and 320?

Try switching the winter summer mode and see what happens...also the transmission may need to re-learn your driving style again.

Thanks RJC; but the W/S switch was the first thing I checked and it seems to be working. I'm wondering if there is some reprograming that needs to be done or if the new board installed was somehow different from the one removed.

Check the part # on your repair order with the parts dept and make sure its for a 55.
