I still have a shifting problem which I will start working on and trying to figure out starting net week
if any of you guys have any ideas of what could help out I am all ears

Nice.. Put her on a diet, if your looking to go faster.. A lighter set of skinnies up front and lighter wheels in the rear will really help her down the 1/4 mile.

That's very impressive! What are your mods? You were running DRs I assume? What kind of power are you putting down?
I ran a 12.15 on street tires in my tuned C63 last week at Atco so I'm really impressed by your time.

ive got the whole kleemann package
quaife LSD
I think they are semi slicks I took them off 55amgrocket's car they r street legal so im assuming its safe to say semi slicks
I was able to run a 12.2 on my street tires but the tires I have on r crap and my shifting is even worse at this point
if u listen carefully to the shifts u hear the lag between them

Congrats on the time by the way. That is stellar! Tires were prolly ET streets.

thanks yea I am not sure what brand they are but im sure they are street legal
I tried putting a couple of radials they either wont clear my fenders or my brake caliper wont clear the rims
these came off an E55 so they fit perfectly and helped me reduce my times

WOW.... 11's!!!! Awesome.
60' is very very good.
I would look for any extra ballast you can remove.... junk in the trunk, spare tire, tools, floor mats, remove all junk out of glove box, 1/8th tank of gas, front tires up to 50psi, rears @ 18-24 (you'll have to see what works best), a goood long cool down.
Car sounds fantastic.

Yeah, I knew you had the whole Kleemann package... Not sure what else there is to do after that besides maybe the TCU tune..
Depends how much you want to dump into it.

all I know is that I have the blower headers and cams from kleemann decided not to get their LSD so I guess that the only thing im missing that they offer for the CLK not sure what else could be added to the CLK
deleted primary cats considering deleting my secondaries and getting wider pipes under
it sounds great now because of the eisenmann mufflers I worry I would go over bored if I change the pipes (I am keeping my resonator) so no x-pipe I guess

right now I dont care about weight reduction as much as I car about my shifting I guess once I have her 100% to my liking then I will go to the extremes of removing seats and shedding off every possible gram I'll skip breakfast if that helps
once I figure out my shifting I am looking into getting better cooling mods get a bigger H/E and a new thermostat and possibly find a way to mimic the python intake tubes to fit into the CLK

actually considering a torque converter as part of my shifting solution and ported heads is something I see myself doing later on
not too sure I want to mess around with my TB I honestly am clueless when it comes to that so I would rather not touch it at all
the one thing that I will never do is shoot it just not ready to blow up another engine

yea I am trying to make sure it can still go on street tires
im not going to ask the guy at a traffic signal to wait for me to burn out and warm up my tires :P or to wait for me to go get my slicks and put them on :P
I am just glad I dont get much attention on the road now but I'll start working on looks when im happy with the way it runs

If your having trouble shifting, I've heard of a few issues. The main issues was being that these cars retard the timing during the shifts. The only way to correct this is ECU tunes, as stated previously. But AMG built this method of retarding the timing for several reasons. Worth looking into. Listening to your video, you could pick up a solid .2 seconds if the shifting is corrected.
If I was you, I'd up the redline to 6300. Sounds like that would help as well, give you a few extra rpms to shift.
Nice car =)

Fantastic run! Even though I have no intention of running a quarter (built my car for road race tracks) I'm tempted to make a pass or two just to see what I could put down.

thanks man!! I am really new to racing and all that but I'm loving it and getting the hang of it. Every time I go to the track I learn something new

I was pleased to know you were getting your kit same time I was getting it felt sorry that it took you that long to get her running perfectly but hey it was worth the wait wasnt it?
third line of what you quoted me on
I would never spray sorry but i think these cars shouldnt be messed with to that extent

Hami - Worth the wait..... jury is out. I've logged 5500 miles and now dealing with some CEL fuel trim issues. $/Mile is pretty high right now. But I'm not giving up yet.
I want to knock down a solid 11 and I'll be happy.
