i have a clk55 w209 with 19 x 8.5j rims all round, the rears should have been 9.5j i think? because they look set to far in compared to the fronts, so i was thinking of putting spacers on the back wheels only to give it a wider stance, what size spacers would you guys recommend? is it okay just to put them on back wheels only?

I had ET35 wheels on the rear and added 10mm spacers to bring the ET to 25, sat really nice and flush. And yeah, you can run them on the rear only if you wish.
thanks for that, i will probably go with 12mm spacers on the back as they are the smallest hubcentric spacers i can find. i am also thinking of H&R lowering springs which give a 40mm drop roughly all round, will these be okay with my 19" alloys? im running 225/35/19F AND 255/30/19R will it clear the arches and not rub? also will the ride quality suffer with these springs on standard amg shocks? sorry with all the questions but i want to get it right first time, ive read eibachs are not as good as H&R or Brabus springs thats why im leaning towards the H&R's, and i cant find a place that sells brabus springs in UK.

I was running 265's in the rear with a total ET of 25 and dropped on H&R, with the camber set to factory specs the tires would catch the outside fender lip once in a while going over large bumps or dips. My track set up but a little rear camber in the rear and I never had any issues after that. My new custom wheels (also ET25) and Invo 265's have never rubbed.
The extra 2mm of the 12mm spacers would most likely get a 265 rubbing but you may be okay with the 255. As much as it doesn't make sense, all cars are slightly different, some guys have no issues and others have tons running the exact same setup...
