There is no w208 w209
Sorry but this bugs me. You'd think a Mercedes discussion website would identify their cars being discussed properly. W is for sedans. A w208 and w209 has never existed. C for coupe a for cab.

CL209 :D
|
A = all part like an oil cooler o-ring that fits multiple models. W indicates a chassis designation that the whole world follows. You found your post in a W-chassis forum.
Does it really matter if you are an A anyway. Lets Benz and be happy Cheers Gator |

Does it really matter if you are an A anyway. Lets Benz and be happy Cheers Gator W is for 4 door sedans and some SUV's. A208 or a209 would be for cab's while the c designation is for coupes. R is for roadsters like the SL, slk. S is for the station wagons, say an e class sedan might be a w210, w211, w212, while the wagons are s210, s211, s212. Gl was x164 instead of w164 for ML. And etc etc etc, point is there is NO W CLK. Ever. It cannot and does not exist by definition. Just more blatant forum misinformation from the experts. Good day. |
Well Were all entitled to our own opinion
Dont ya know. My cousin in law sent me some really special brew from Minnesota. Voyaguer Gran Marais. MN Really nice. Made a special x-mas with report. CLK = Coupe/Luxury/Short Study your Dutch only Hosers are A Believers. Har Lets Benz. |
He's actually correct, the technical docs will only say "A208" for a convertible or "C208" for a coupe, as with any other model. A 207 coupe is the same way, it's only possible as a C207 coupe or A207 ragtop. 217 same way.
Now on say a 205, you can have all of them, sedan, wagon, coupe, cab. |
Well I will bow down to anyone who can give positive guidance.
How in the El would you ever purchase a part with any of those numbers? Look up any of those cars on WIS or even try to buy one on e-bay. If you are the man/woman that codes for Benz and makes the rules then enjoy. The technical docs might work well for internal engineering but these cars are coded globaly for economic consumer sanction. Why bother with internal codec when logistics sells parts. No offense intended |
Logistics are recorded for every WX model sold. The WX parts are sorted and sold as needed. An Ax part will fit any Benz period.
I am no Economics Engineer or Data Miner. Have studied both, I am a coder. Refuse to believe someone's post in a forum that is likely older than he is that degrades everyone's ability to purchase a fuse. No offense intended |
You're talking parts. He's talking chassis code. Different topics.
|
well it makes no matter then if there is no W208/W209.

Here is a document from Daimler. (Re: W208)
http://docshare04.docshare.tips/file.../308153972.pdf Are you also suggesting the W215 should only be referred to as the C215? :rolf: Refer to page 7 for what the manufacturer is referring to in their own materials. https://www.mbwholesaleparts.com/dow..._April2014.pdf |
Well put Chappy, Engineering and propaganda recognizes the (W) chassis designation.
I was dongling about in my European Delphi software and found some interesting results. Here Goes: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...95e495d740.jpg A class has a W designation https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...1d389b7358.jpg There is a B and C class with a W designation https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...4e1c7cd082.jpg CLK has a W designation but not ore-requisite https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...cf4b0b0520.jpg E Class is designated with a (W) My Wurth WOW software ids the same. From the above criteria there is a W208 and W209 Just no class besides CLK.
All the Best. Gator |
