Hi Everyone, I was talking to the head of AMG at the recent AMG Challenge Event and he informed me that quad exhaust and 18 inch wheels are coming, I assumed for the 05 model year.

Same old 13.6 inchers will be around for 05 production as well. But the SLK55's 6 pot/4 pot brakes will be a direct bolt on for the C55 and the CLK55! So upgrade away!
If the C32 AMG brakes are the same as the W209 CLK55 ... and the SLK55 New AMG brakes will fit on a CLK55.... Then, I can safely assume W208 CLK owners can install this SLK55 brakes and calipers .... as a lot of us are doing the C32 AMG brake upgrades.... True!?

Thanks,
Rob

Maybe he meant soon...not 2005, but soon.
I guess we'll all know in 2005 now won't we.

Hey guys, to settle this debate for good, I just e-mailed a friend of mine who is a Product Manager from AMG. He confirmed the quad exhaust and the 18" wheels, but only on the coupe. The 55 Cab. will get the 18" wheels, but will only have the twin exhaust on one side!!! DVD Navi. had also been confirmed for both, but he would not tell me if the car will have the 7-spd tranny! I can finally sleep easy tonight!!!!:p

I finally got him to confirm that the SLK55 will be the first AMG to get the 7-spd. The CLK & C55's will not have this until later, due to the transmission tunnel not being big enough to accommodate the later unit!!!

2003 CLK55
While you sleep easy tonight, I will be crying in my pillow.

So do you think I will take a big hit on my car for a trade in?? Its 2003 CLK55 with 7K miles on it. Still have 4 years of payments to make.

I think trade values are all relative to your location. Here in So.Cal. the market for a new CLK55 is not very stong, so the trade values suffer on pre-owned. However, if you local dealers is still asking sticker or close to it for a new one, then they will not hit you to terribly hard on a trade in.
