transmission won't engage!
 

Went to drive my '03 clk55 AMG today and the car wouldn't move. Engine started right up but the car would not move after shifting into drive. The gear selector works so it will allow the shifter to select but whether it is reverse or drive, neither works. After repeated attempts the car went into limp mode(check engine light came on) but after reaching about 1000 rpms and the car actually moving a bit it would disengage the transmission and I would be left with just a running engine, no movement. I've already had it towed to my mechanic but checking here for answers, too. Thanks!

Sounds like it's your conductor plate.
