Clk63 value?

I'm looking at a 2008 clk63 with 42,500 miles. It's silver on exterior and black interior. 3 owner car. Has been maintained at dealer by current owner. Was wondering what you guys think as far as price. Thanks.

Let your fingers do the walking, (search) but 3 owners is not good unless carfax is documented proper.
After a thorough dealer inspection i would guess 40k plus. I welcome any criticism only because this is what I would pay for one similar.
Cheers

This is for a 2008 clk63 cabriolet, can't really find any like it for sale or any for sale period. It seems like it's been properly maintained per Carfax and current owner. I found one on BaT that sold for 21,500 but that was an 07 with 62,000 miles.

Rare Benz depreciate faster than you think.
I over valued my terms.
A rare car must have a rare buyer.

There is mortality in investment for special cars, especially AMG prepared Benz.
When special cars are obtained it becomes a moral issue. Should I park it in an air conditioned environment for 30 or so years and hope that someone wants it.
The AMG built car is one of the most collectable and powerful cars desired by MB enthusiast, The average market for these cars on a consumer standpoint is low.
That car is AC storage noteworthy. If you are investing for purity or wishing to enjoy the AMG engine/chassis is up to you
Make your bid and enjoy.

Gator

You’re generous, I have a nice CLK55 to sell you for $30K. These cars are rare, but not in high demand - though more demand in spring for any vert. I’ve looked closely at 209 55 and 63 listings nationally over the last 2 years while shopping myself, and 3 owners is not unusual, but it does help lower the price a tad. 42K miles with no accidents on record is a good low mileage car. If the head bolts were done and everything looks fine and works well, $26K, if no bolt change $22K.

Well I bought it. Wasn't as kept up with service as I thought but don't regret it at all. I've already done engine and transmission mounts, transmission service, spark plugs, and front tires. Wow it rides so smooth, no rattles or noises. Power is refined much different than my E55. Still have a couple other things to do but tonight is the first night I drove it home. The wife doesn't even know I bought it.

Your personal value has little to do with market value, which I believe was the question at hand. Limited production means little to the market for a car that’s neither a classic nor an exotic, plus without a head bolt change is a ticking time bomb. My opinion is based on recent used car listings not my personal desire. Most experts on these W209’s will tell you that the ‘05 and ‘06 M113 equipped AMG’s are more desirable, and a better value to boot.

07 E63 + 07 CLK63CAB
My good friend if you could buy any car with limited production numbers, it either says they are poor value or good value.
Both cars have no issue other than oil changes, battery, 1 AC compressor in the E63, brake pads and tires.
Enjoy your car as I enjoy mine. Also my opinion
1 question have you owned your 05 for 12 or 13 years now

Not really worried about head bolts, if it happens then I will do the repair. I am a master certified benz tech of 13 years and in my experience its been about 50/50 of of early 63s have head bolt issues. We have a few high mileage 63'S that have not had any issues with head bolts or cam adjusters. Paid mid 20's for it. Still been searching but have not been able to find another 08 clk63 for sale, I have seen a few 07s. I have driven several clk55's coupes and cabs which is also an awesome car and also a good value but the clk63 with the bigger engine is a step above in my opinion.

1 question have you owned your 05 for 12 or 13 years now
What does it matter how long I’ve owned my car, my good friend? Are you being cute here? I bought my ‘05 this past March. Regardless, one need only research this very forum for many hardship accounts of catastrophic head bolt failure, or worse, related engine failures with the M156. Btw, in the last 7 months I’ve replaced or had replaced: ABS Module, front lower control arms, front wheel bearings, steering powered articulation “dogbone” thing ($5 part, $1,000 labor!), oil fill tube gasket, crank position sensor; some expensive repairs, but expected for a 75K mile W209, yet I have no fear of weak head bolts failing, leaving my engine at risk of catastrophic hydro lock. Have you priced-out an M156 transplant?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the CLK63, and nearly purchased an ‘07 last winter, if it weren’t for it having some missing history and questionable upkeep after seeing it in person. If I keep getting strong random offers for my ‘05, I may bite the bullet, sell it, then track down a 63 - my offer would be adjusted for the ~$5K indy bolt job, so about $22K.
