Stolen W208 CLK55 AMG

My baby was stolen last night in Murrieta from my garage. If anyone spots it somewhere in the southland please email me at mpersson@shiny.com.

It is the car used on the evosport.com site for suspension mods. It's low with 18" Carlssons with side turn indicators blacked and no hoodstar. Also on the trunk someone pryed of the ring around the Mercedes star.

Here is a link to a photo of the vehicle:

http://www.evosport.com/product/imag...stage1_b&a.jpg

Thanks,

Michael Persson

ACK! That sucks hard...

How the hell did they steal it? I was always under the impression that the SmartKey made these cars almost impossible to steal...

Fishy?!?!?!

Our house was broken into. They found the keys. They drove away with the car. Why is that so difficult to comprehend? All I wanted was for people to look out for the car, genious.

Ouch. I gather MB hasn't been able to track it?

That's pretty terrible though... I know it's not what you wanna hear, but chances are that you don't wanna find it... with all the mods on it, they'll probably chop it up pretty bad. I'd start making plans to get a new one when the insurance pays up...

Yeah it sucks... just being realistic, I suppose.

Calm down, bud. You didn't explain the situation well enough in the first place. Now, do you have teleaid?

I'd be pissed too if my car was stolen and someone would start accusing my post of being fishy. You wouldn't be calm either I bet...

Anyway, I just spoke to MPersson and he is driving home in it now. I think their teleaid had expired and they re-activated for a year the following day. It was tracked and the driver followed to Pechanga casino where he was arrested! (YES!)

Car is fine, there are now more CD's in the changer(!) and a lighter in the ashtray, so it might have been smoked in but that appears to be it.

So far, happy ending.

Jump to a premature conclusion and then pointing the finger at the originating post is some spin.

Well, calling it fishy might be a little unsympathetic but everyone is entitled to their little doubt in mind.

Anyways, it's good that the guy(s) is/are caught red-handed and will receive the punishment that he/they deserved.

I don't think anybody was calling his story fishy, as in he was lying. I think they were saying that it sounded fishy, like an inside job, or somebody he knew who could have access to a key or have one sent from Germany. I do think he was being a bit of jerk to snap at someone trying to help him and suggest a possibility he may not have considered. I certainly understand his anger. I wouldn't be angry; I would be homicidal. Anyway, I just don't think it is appropriate to point that anger at helping hands.

I don't know this person, though, so maybe he/she is an instigator. Just seems like there is more than one interpretation of a statement like that one.

I am glad to hear you got your car back, and hope it wasn't screwed up to badly. The only thing dumber than stealing a mercedes is not knowing that you can be tracked in it. Amateur night if you ask me.
