K40
Had the K40 Dual Undetectable Radar Detector and K40 DefuserPlus installed on my 04 CLK55. Absolutly awesome! It's already saved me a number of times. Came over a hill doing 90 mph to see a County Sheriff coming my way about 600 feet in front of me. The laser detector went off at the same time I hit the brakes and he just looked at me as I went on past. The best part is no one even knows it's there. Anyone else have the K40's and have you found any problems with them.[/SIZE]

Actually, I made the asumption that it was laser (not yet being able to identify which sound goes with which detector) because if it wasn't laser he should have nailed me. The K-40 went off at the same instant I visually saw him. I suppose it could have been radar and he had something else more important to do. Maybe it was just my lucky day. I would like to know for sure though if laser can only be shot from a stationary position. Is there anyone out there that can verify that for us?

have it installed on my 01 clk55 amg. awesome, such a clean install and doesnt look out of place at all. havent gotten a speeding ticket with it. just a tad bit expensive compared to other routes you can go with like v1 or x50. although you cant beat the laser diffusor. awesome mod

Nice surprise on K40
I purchased my E500 as a low-mileage pre-owned vehicle and the dealership failed to list and price for the K40 (went by original sticker). To my surprise and their dropped jaws I found out that the K40 was installed when I questioned about the K40 controls next to the steering wheel. It's a sweet system....catches anything before I can see it.
