2002 CLK55 Cabriolet (DEAD: 1989 300E, 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible)
Just joined the club!!!
Hi folks ... no one here would remember me ('cept maybe ndabunka ... lol) but I used to lurk around here about a year and a half ago ... was looking for a low-mileage black 2002 W208 CLK55 Cab but back then prices for cars with 3,000+ miles or less were sky-high ... 'way outta my league
Thus the search got put on the back-burner, until a week or so ago when I ran across what is now my new Beast ... a one-driver 2002 with only - get this - 4223 miles on the clock!!! (And the price was a good 40% off of the original MSRP! lol )
It's not in as-new showroom condition (a tiny ding on the front bumper, a scratch on the rear bumper and a few rock chips on the hood saw to that ) but I'll attend to those shortly ... the rest of the car is flawless
I found the car on-line ...
Thanks to this forum, I contacted Steve in NL and will have a COMAND installed in mid-Feb.
I also found an integrated iPod adapter (Dension's ice>Link Plus) on-line ...
And, last but not least, I found a form-fitted cover for the model on-line ... and a showroom 20 miles away (I'm off to check fabrics tomorrow)
After all this, I just have to say ...
God bless the Internet
God bless eBay
God bless Google
God bless CARFAX
And God bless MBWorld Forums!
(Pics are in the Picture thread ... enjoy)

Congratulations Riot Nrrrd!
I just bought a 2003 CLK55 AMG Coupe(Brilliant Silver Metallic/Charcoal) toward the end of last month w/ only 6000 miles and every option (except the tronics). I'm really happy w/ this car - I finally understand why people spend so much on a benzo. Anyways, I hope to be an active member of this forum... so HI EVERYBODY!

Hey Chappy,
I had seen your post a few weeks back about it but didn't get a chance to reply. I'm definitely ready for the photo-shoot and hopefully by then I'll have a few small mods done to my car.

No longer car shopping...
Congrats!
Riot - I do remember you. Glad to hear you've made the leap. I know you will enjoy it. Was sorry to see mine go (about a year ago). I do still come on here every once in a while just to see who's doing what.

WElcome to the club,.
but is it just me or what....,....but a 3 year old car has only 4xxx on the clock with dings in this and that on the bumpers.. basically saying the previous owner, drive the car only once a month and manage to dent the bumpers and rock dented the hood.... in those 36 drives
are you sure the mileage is correct?

The Woman managed to scrape the paint off the underside of my bumper, and get some good road rash on the passenger side front wheel the ONLY TIME she EVER drove my AMG.
It's now fixed and back to the Chevy for her.

The rock chips are actually all very small ... the biggest one is about half the size of my pinky fingernail ...
But it's so easy to get chips out here where I live (trucks use the 210 freeway all the time) that I want to get them covered before I ClearBra it ... and the ChipsAway guy is coming on Friday (I'll report back to the Forum on how good a job he does)
