Are you selling yours? Didn't you just buy it?

Vic55 09-17-2007 04:00 PM

A few posts down you can get an undelivered one for sticker in Orange County. Boy the markup, or so called markup on these was short lived.

JamE55 09-17-2007 04:11 PM

If you've been following some of the BS posts earlier, these things had a huge markup on them and now some of the dealers are realizing/have realized that it's time to take the markup's down.

Prices are already crashing.Good luck even getting you sales tax back.We warned you this car would crash like all amg.

Are they crashing? No.... Are dealers realizing that no one will pay over sticker for any AMG? Yes, it appears to be a slow lesson they are learning.....

No one seems to be getting discounts other than $200 or $500 based on long relationships with dealers.

IngenereAMG 09-17-2007 08:37 PM

I think these will be the next great AMG performance car bargain...in a year or two. Look at SL65 prices......yikes!

How can the price "crash" when no used market exists yet ?? Give it a year and then see how they hold their value compared to a regular AMG...DER.

i got a brand new one and a guy actually offered me $3000 off Sticker for it, which i thought was kind of funny.

Interesting!

The used car managers in the Bay area wil pay a premium to get these cars to satisfy customers. I was offered $20K over last weekend (not why I bought the car!).

Me either...I've had offers from friends to guys in front of resturants...anywhere from 5k-20k over sticker. A guy last night wrote me a check and handed it to me - 10k over and I told him sorry, I've become quite attached to it !!

What portion of the anticipated 350 U.S. allocation is now delivered (either at a dealership or in the hands of a private owner)? It's pretty hard to understand the market, until all the crs are built and transported here.
If 50 dealerships get stuck with a car they can't move, the market will be really soft. As of 10 days ago, it was difficult to get a car.

Personally, the depreciation doesn't matter much to me, as I hope to drive the car 100,000 miles. At that point, no performance car is worth much.

On the other hand, I am not familiar with any car built in the last 50 years that drives like this. If you grew up in the muscle car era, as I did, this is what you hoped your car would be like. Since you can't buy anything else like it, it is worth whatever you need to pay to get one.

That isn't the arguement I made in deciding on a 996tt over a ZO6, where there is a premium for quality and aura but little true advantage in driving dynamics. I haven't driven a 599 Ferrari or a new 430, but with those two possible exceptions, this is the sharpest driving tool in production. AS

Really? Than you should get the name and number of the guy from the previous night, call the dealer down a few posts selling a new one for M.S.R.P. (MarcusBenz in So. Cal.), and than you can make a quick 10K.

I doubt this guy was serious since we all know that it's not to hard to get a BS for M.S.R.P. now. Anybody who knows what a BS car is would be knowledgable enough to know what the current market price is for this car.

If you had a Dealer's license, maybe, but otherwise a lot of hassle to avoid Sales tax etc.!

Does Marcus Benz still have the car at MSRP?

Alex,

The AMG BS has many 599/430/GT3 qualities and similarities, they are all variations on the performance theme, and you are right the BS is the that captures the essence of a true muscle car.

I have one Red/Black car left, we sold the other car.

JamE55 09-19-2007 08:58 AM

Hey Marcus,

Was just there last week and didn't see the red BS. Did you guys get another one or something? Thought the red one you had from before was already sold? Still 138 no?

As always, Black and Silver will be the hot colors, and White will have its selected fans (including me). In fact, I like all the colors, but Red might be the reason that car is sitting, it takes a special customer.
