Sounds like you got a hell of a deal. As for the shipping of the car, I agree with the others....drive it. Buy a one way plane ticket to Florida and drive it home. Trust me when I say ALL the car hauling companies out there suck and this is coming from a guy that owns a trucking company. I could sit here and tell you horror stories about several well know carriers. Things that actually happened to me or my cars. Most recently I shipped my Black Series from Chicago to LA, the truck was 4 days late picking up my car, but stated, we will still get it there this week....two weeks later my car was still not delivered to it's destination in LA. The return home trip was even worse. I decided to drive the car from LA to Vegas and have it shipped home from Vegas. Well the truck showed up a day early this time, cutting my time with my newly modded car short. On top of that I told the drive I would not be home until Wednesday so the car can't be delivered until after Wednesday. Guess what happened next? I get a call Tuesday afternoon from the freight company telling me the drive has been ringing my doorbell for a half hour. Yep, the car showed up a day early and the damn driver just dropped the car in my driveway in Chicago in February.

If you do drive it home, bring bail money LOL!

STOP! THIEF!

Nice job, that's a great price for the mileage. Is it new or used?

For shipping check out InterCitylines.com they are the best company I know of. They use enclosed trailers with lift gates very professional company.

fly into Miami couple days early. rock out and then drive it back for the sickest road trip you'll ever have. a better question would be to reach out to our members in VA, DC, MD etc.. (all the states involved in this trip) and figure out what local route you should take to try to break that speed barier. BTW congrats

You're gonna love it! I have used Exotic Car Transport from NH to NC and FL to NC with good results. It is as Jim says always a risk shipping a car. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.....

Chargin55 07-15-2008 08:34 PM

Welcome to the "BS" Club.

Did you buy it private or from a dealer.?

pigman 07-16-2008 12:34 AM

I used agapetransport.com to ship a clk55 from NY to FL in an enclosed auto carrier. It was a little over $900. There are a lot of nightmare stories about payments and delays with a lot of carriers. You can read reviews at transportreviews.com. I spent a lot of time researching and calling several carriers. Many of them will hound you with recorded messages and others will keep emailing you once they get your email address. If I was to do it again, I'd just call Agape. You pay them a few hundred up front and then pay the balance in cash to the driver upon delivery. I think the drivers are just contracted so it's not really agape that ships the cars but they are very helpful and responsive if you need to work out a pickup or drop-off schedule.
Congrats on a great car!
