Congrats to forum member Graham Rahal
He just won the Rolex 24hr race here in Daytona. Like father like son. Way to go Graham. :y
|
+1 way to go Graham!! 1-2 for Ganassi. Well done man...you had some great drivers with you - Just finished watching....amazingly close race for a 24 hr.
|
I was at the race. What a great weekend and the racing was intense.
Juan Pablo drove like his hair was on fire and needed a few replacement front noses on the 02 from using them as a chrome horn...:wwf: Note: Fog effected the vehicle mortality rates and the overall final results. And the 2:45 hours of caution for the fog starting at 5AM had the new BMW pace car putting some break-in miles on...:zoom: Personally, It was the best 24Hrs I've been to in many years..... Jim |
Thanks guys. It was a lot of fun. Now back home putting MACarbon bits on my BS. Will post pics soon!
|
Haha, gotta love it... he wins a race in a million dollar sports car and comes home to put some more carbon pieces on his BS. How ironic.
Ironic item #2 is that Graham has a Range Rover Sport Supercharged and a CLK BS just like I do, and we both raced karts during the same era... stop copying me Graham! :) http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photo...62052_1561.jpg |

Graham, can you post pic of the watch? Avid watch collector here, I actually hate(ok dislike) Rolex's, I own a couple and they're always in the shop but i'd love to see one of the ones they gave you guys. I assume it's a Daytona, right? Anything special on the dial or case?

Hey guys. Here she is. Its a stainless steel Daytona, which is the most desirable for sure. If you try and buy them its a several year waiting list. But the coolest thing is the special plate on the back. Check it out :)
The box I had signed by all my co-drivers, as well as Chip and Carlos Slim! Proud to be a Rolex 24 Winner! |
...come on Dude, you bought that on fleabay LOL, just kidding. Awesome!!! The engraved plate on the back of the case is very cool. One of the guys on here now owns Chips Black Series.
Thanks for sharing |
Tony Kanaan, Chip Ganassi, Jeremy Clarkson, Graham Rahal... there's only 500 of these cars worldwide and a lot of them are/were owned by racers. Crazy.
Nice watch, great job! |

If you're referring to the CLK BS, I thought there were 1500 made worldwide and 350 were brought to the USA. Am I mistaken?
Bish Doubtful that 1500 were produced. Ed A. |

If I recall the original 2007 Merc press release indicated proposed production of 700 worldwide with 350 coming to the USA. Doubtful that 1500 were produced. Ed A. |
From the AMG PL:
Originally Posted by MBUSA_Rob_Allan As of today, there are only a few CLK63 AMG Black Series available. The discounting that occurs is typically when a dealer in a market without buyers has a car in stock for an extended period and naturally is paying for holding the car in stock. The total production per AMG was 399 units - which makes this model one of the lowest production AMGs of all time. My recommendation is to talk with the dealer and let them know that you are interested and to name your price. The car's performance merits speak volumes about this machine. Rob Allan |
IIRC 500 worldwide - 367 came to the US.
Nice watch Graham, thanks for posting. |

A little late but congrats:y

Congratulations to Mr. Rahal on his 3rd place finish at Indy!

Way to go Graham. You are off to a very good year keep it up but be smart and safe.:zoom:
So how many miles on the black now? |
Graham -
That must have been a really attention getter.., when JR Hildebrand slammed into the 4th turn wall on the last lap and you guys had to bobble and weave through the debris at 200 mph to the checked flag. I can't help it but, JR's last lap rookie mishap reminds me of Marco napping on the last lap in 2006. The INDY 500 has always been a race that needs to be driven under the checked flag and finished in turn 1 on the last lap.:zoom: Congrads on your P3 finish...:y a very nice improvement over 12th last year.
