Sold my BS

Well it was fun while it lasted. Put it up for sale about a month ago at $58.000
and sold it for $56,500.00. 38,000 miles, had a engine light that just came on for the fuel pump issue that has been discussed here before. ($2,100.00 quote from Merc). Motor mount was leaking and needed replacement ($1,100.00). Lots of maintenance due as well. Just thought you guys would like to know how the market is.

Wow, good for you! Thanks for sharing. What state are you in? What did you replace it with?

I'm in California. No replacement yet although my goal is a GT3.

One of the few cars I'd take over a CLK BS. Great choice.

Cool! Yea, I'm entertaining selling mine, but worried that I'd regret it instantly. This car sets the bar so high that there are only a few cars I would consider (Within reason in terms of price). GT3 obviously is always on top of the list... but I was also thinking about an R8 5.2 (Less hardcore but more exotic), or F-Type R RWD (For noise and hooning). Both are not as rare or special though.

Couple of things. I listed my car on Car Gurus. In the month it was listed, I had about 4 bites. I think if it had a clean Carfax I could of gotten a fair amount more. FWIW. Audi would of given me 50k on a trade in. Mercedes, because of the Carfax would only give me 42k because of the report. I was contacted by a broker that was looking for a BS for a client. The final transaction was done at Phillips Auto in Newport Beach.

What was on the CarFax? Trying to gauge the market, because it sounds like your car had several thousand dollars needed to bring it up to speed, and I am curious how bad the CarFax blemish was? The only reason I ask is that my car is for sale also, literally needs nothing (I overpay to maintain it and make it perfect), it has a clean CarFax, and only 29k miles, and I have people throwing me numbers all over the map.

Any insight is appreciated. Good luck in the GT3 search. Those are amazing.

I honestly have no details of the Carfax. I was told by the previous owner it was minor rear end damage. Neither of us could find any evidence of any previous damage. FWIW. Mercedes told me that with a clean report they felt it was worth mid 60s.

Okay. Thank you. Best of luck in your search for a new toy.

You just bought this car not even 5 months ago.? This is nuts where you not happy with the car over all or was it just these two issues? I just replaced my motor mounts and my quote was half that for work done near you in Long Beach.

I acquired the car on a trade for some of the labor to build a custom home. The reality is, its not a car that I was particularly looking for. I knew that I could sell it when I wanted and in the meantime enjoy it for a while.
Now to the car. There is one thing that absolutely bugged the crap out of me and thats the transmission. The Allison trans in my Duramax shifts as quick as the BS. I considered getting the blip mod done, but since I was not planning on keeping it long term, it made no sense to spend a couple grand to have a slightly quicker shifts, plus I wanted to keep it stock.
I'm currently looking at different options that would make for a better daily driver. I really like the 2015 C63s.

I would keep it stock as well if I knew I was going to sell in a relatively short period of time. Definitely helps the resell value because most want to do their own mods to make it "their" car. Buyer market on these cars are interesting as some want fully modded and others want completely stock. Maybe its trill seekers vs. collectors? Anyhow, GLWS!
