May be returning to Black Series ownership lunacy.
Well, since last year when I sold ‘Nero’, my CLK63 Black Series, I have been in a car funk. Bought a few cars that I was not really excited about, and then a few weeks ago I started thinking about the cars I really enjoyed owning. The Black was at the top of the “Why Did You Have A Dumbazz Attack and Sell That Car” list. I reached out about a silver one that was for sale, then a personal emergency pulled all my attention away from cars for a couple of weeks. Flash forward to last week when I saw the thread about the 3k mile white CLK63 Black Series at Hendrick Mercedes in Nort Carolina. I looked....closed the ad. Looked again, this time a little longer....closed the ad. Looked again....you see where this is going. So I called them to ask about the mileage discrepancy and the accident on the CarFax. I mean, hey, the mileage is so low the car is almost new, right?
Well, after a week of the dealership lying about having photos and documents they could send me to show the accident was ‘minor’, I got bored and decided to see how out of reach the C63 Black Series were.
“Hmmm...weird. These are not much more money, and I can take my daughter with me since they have rear seats. It is damn near a family car now! But I bet they are crappy to drive. Not worth my time. But maybe....,” and I found a white one in Florida that was exactly the same price as the 3k mile CLK Black. Chatted with the seller and a few days later I am texting an offer to him when I pulled up AutoTrader to check the ad for something and, “Wait! What is this? How did I not see one here in Indiana that is for sale? Shoot! It is only 45 minutes from my house,” and just like that I deleted my text on the white one and called the seller of the black Indiana car. Needless to say I drove it today, and the darkness of the Black Series is calling me back like a pathetic addict. What is it about these dang things?? They are just such amazing cars!!
So...I made an offer, and we are a little apart on the price. But someone talk me down. Tell me why I should resist the urge to go back to “The Dark Side” and get a less insane car.

I think I am more concerned with the C63 Black Series prices at this point. If you are looking at a car with under 10K miles, no accidents, and no 'stories', what number would you put on it?

Never seen a CLK BS listed for $50k? They were 4 years ago...
I shoulda bought one, but picked up an SL65 instead.

Yea, but those appear to have stories (or are just plain ugly). There were $48k examples (iirc) that were more "normal", they just had miles on them.

Silver one on autotrader has been listed a while. 70+k miles and non OEM wheels.
Green one asking $52k is... Green

Would love one of these.
I dont see a reason for the price to drop on these. They are a first of their kind and are just insane cars plus they have that classic feel with the dated interior and not too much mambo jumbo
The car has character.

After selling a couple of cars to make space, I am leaning more towards the CLK63 Black Series instead of the C63 Black Series. I drove (and actually made an offer to buy) a C63 Black Series a couple of months ago, but my heart was never really into it. Luckily divine intervention happened, and outside factors took me away from car shopping for a while, but now I am back in and miss the rawness of the CLK63 Black. Something about it is just perfectly imperfect.

A rare and raw car from Mercedes that ushered in a new era for them. Get 'em while they're NOT hot

2008 Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series.
Good things come to those who wait.
Only 367 or 350 who cares, very limited production car, very reliable car with excellent performance and yes the shifting its not the quickest but still manage to produce very good numbers, this car it’s not going to be increasing value for now, too many are bouncing around dealers and flippers, all you can do is get one if you really like the car and enjoy it, just let the time decide if it’s going to become a priceless collector car.
But looking at all the factors it has all the possibilities to have an up trend in value in the years to come.
Looking at other vehicles that have reach collectible status and comparing with the CLK 63 B.S. my opinion is, if you like the car and you are happy with it keep it, if you bought it to flip it and make a quick profit, good luck.

If you are referring to the red one in Portland
it has been doing this going on 5 years -
At one time it was listed out of Tacoma, Wa -
Too many problems - I have no interest -
Thank-You
