MB: C320 (2005) and '07 GL 450; Porsche: 911SC (1979), 997S (2006).
No, guys. It is W218, not "C". The platform on which the car is designed has changed. I do wish a forum like this would get these basic things right.

You are incorrect, it is not W. The letter indicates the bodystyle (sedan, coupe, roadster, etc), the three-digit numeric is the first part of the baumuster which represents the platform.

C is the designation used for coupes.

A= cabrio
C= coupe
R= roadster
S= estate
V= long wheelbase
W= standard/short wheelbase
X= extra long/special wheelbase

See also the references to the SL and SLK class coupes in this forum.

I could not find a reference in the MB USA site, but someone else might.

Lol. I can't believe they have it incorrectly stated as "C220".

Seriously! Imagine if the BMW guys get ahold of this. They already criticize M-B enthusiasts for not being true enthusiasts, imagine what if they saw owners of said cars, nor a Forum representing them not even knowing the correct model designation!

They already have.... This is sad..... How can there be so much confusion over the model designation.
