DVD unlock commands

Does anyone know how to override the DVD viewing block while in motion for the 2014?

I will truly help for long trips with the kids.

thanks

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Went to their website but doesn't seem to support 2012+ CLS550?

Here you go.....no hardware needed....just a software update. Never used it my self but saw a post somewhere about it. Keep up posted if you decide to give it a try.

rrsupercharged,

Thanks for the link! I like the idea of no hardware modification, but not sure if it will damage anything software wise. How reputable is that website?

Not sure. If it's the same company that use to sell the DVDinmotion modules then they've been around for some time. I came across the info/website on some post a couple of months ago. I wonder if this can be done via STAR. I know people lower their cars with this system and apparently it can do a lot of other things too. I'm not familiar with STAR but maybe someone can chime in with more info.

Thanks rrsupercharged,

Just a little bit skeptical, because almost everyone else is selling hardware based solutions. But if this works out it's going to be really awesome!

Btw, has anyone actually tried on their C218 CLS?

Do these video in motion unlocks also enable you to enter a destination while driving etc?

I really dont care about watching movies but i'd love to have the nav system input enabled constantly.

Thanks in advance,

George

Not really when you compare it to the alternative hardware module installation which costs a few hundred bucks then another few hundred to have it installed. Plus they have a rebate program going on now which knocks off $50 http://bimmerguru.com/rebate_program

Fair point, however I'm annoyed that they only email you the software and you have to burn the CD yourself. At least mail me a disk. My MacBook Pro doesn't even have a CD drive.

They could also ship you the CD, depending on where in the states you live shipping costs between $25-$35. A cheaper alternative would be to go to a local FedEx/Kinkos or Office Depot and they will burn one for you for around $6. You can contact them for more details on shipping fees http://bimmerguru.com/contact

I tried the DVD in motion software in my ML 63S, and it unfortunately did not seem to work. The company was great to deal with and they are responsive. I got a full refund with no issues whatsoever.

I might try it again one day - perhaps this time in my 2019 G63.

I got mine for GLA 2018 from satnavninja.com but I'm not sure if they support your model. Check out their table for supported models.
