Build the most powerful cls550 4matic

Hello,
As i remember additional ground wire was needed. You have three phases and one ground (the ground on the stock pump is not connected at all). You have to connect the ground (from the plug that connects to your fuel pump) to the chassis ground. The AMG fuel pump is connected with Star Connection (Y): 3 Phase circuit and you need the ground to chassis to work. If the pump is not working right swap the two of the three phases in the plug.

I'm getting AMS to do it. Although they are a bit out of the way distance wise for me, they have really impessed me in my dealings with them. Great results with my original tune and fantastic customer service!

Hello,
I have set a new goal to make 950-1000hp out of m278 engine First thing to upgrade is the gearbox. New turbos are in progress for up to 1000hp+ (garrett ball bearing turbos) When more info is available will let you know.

Are you getting bullet proof transmission ??
From who?
And, about Quiafe LSD, my tech has to modify LSD housing in order for LSD to fit it.
Did yours have to do that too ??

I think performance wise this engines are very potent and 1000hp is not impossible My car is not daily driver and i want to check where is the limit. If torque not exceed 1300nm it will be ok. Will go for more linear power band (to prevent power hits under 4k rpm ) First thing in the list after the turbo upgrade is the torque converter. I will try to retrofit s600 w222 v12 torque converter then will check for available transmission upgrades and tcu upgrade. The good thing is that the car is not that heavy. For example my Ml63 amg is facing much bigger loads on the gearbox (the engine is 700hp and 1250nm) due to the heavy chassis. When you accelerate hard you feel that it will rip something apart.. M278 engine in my opinion is better material and design compared to the bmw s63 engines and will take much more power and take more punishment. For example for the last 10k km this car burned only half a liter of oil. .. and had hundreds of starts and 300km/h+ accelerations. It beat any m5, m6, rs6... that raced and it's not even amg motor lol

To make thing clear from experience after 10k miles with the m157 turbochargers. This engine is the best one i have owned and i have a lot of cars. Dont know why but it does not burn oil. The M157 turbochargers with 3 inch exhaust are just the first step to upgrade and the turbos are even small for it. This is the reason i go for bigger twin turbos GTX30.. So far from so many cars owned i can recommend this one for sure as well as the 63 amg m157. This two are the most reliable cars ever owned, period. ..

Yes if the LSD unit does not come in you have to remove some of the material in the housing to let it go in. Dont worry to modify the housing as the quaife lsd unit is big. My diff housing also was little modified to be able to install it.

As i have both the amg and non amg, they are same car. They drive same and feel same. The only difference is the mct clutch in the amg that feels little more harsh but it's intended to take more torque. As i stated before dont worry to modify your car, this m157 turbos are just the initial stage of tuning and the car will be as reliable as before and even more as the car is more efficient (the engine will out breath the stock m278 turbo's at 3.5 -4k rpm and it's like hitting a wall)

Forgot to mention how efficient this engines can be. Yesterday i was driving for 40 minutes with 60-75 mph and when i last checked it showed 7l/100km or 40mpg. That's what i call efficient If i drive the car as hard as possible for all day long it not exceed 14 mpg

Have you ever seen the ability to swap out gears in these cars? I think on the even sub 800hp Going from 2.65 to like a 3.23 or 3.67 would allow us to get into 5th (1 to 1) faster. As of now we dont even get into 5th gear till about 125mph or so. That sucks.

Hello, No as i think longer gears are better. The ECU/TCU calibration will be pita. To make gears shorter just rise the power and will go up to fifth in no time

May I ask which fluid it needs for Quiafe LSD ??
Mine is making clunk noise when going slow or cold start up.
Tech said it's normal.
And it needs few weeks to be broken in.
Thank you

I'am currently making the design of the big turbos and they will be a blast 1000hp cappable. My design is completely new for M157/278 engines turbo upgrades. Usualy the things i build and manufacture for my business are much more complex compared to turbo upgrades, manifold designs etc..
